Phonic has been in the business of creating affordable and unbelievably exceptional audio products for decades. Many consumers are entirely unaware that this company is actually responsible for creating and designing, and manufacturing many of the audio components and parts that are used in most Yamaha mixers, and Yamaha audio components. And while a Phonic audio mixing board is hardly the most popular, nor the most common mixer that you will ever seen in a studio, the truth revealed, they make a damn fine product that is well priced, of the highest quality and delivers some of the cleanest signal you will ever find for the money that you spend. In enters the newest revelation in Phonic mixers, the Helix 24 MKII.
Phonic Helix 24 MKII FireWire Mixer
This board is sweet and adorned with all of the necessary goodies. The only complaint that we have been even able to find about the Helix is that the faders and the knobs are rather smaller, which some users did not like because they could bump them out of position more easily. The mixer comes complete with a freebie version of Cubase 4 LE, which can be upgraded online. Firewire pre and post settings allow for the swap of streaming signals and inputs to your computer complete with pre low cut and post to post fader settings. Users are able to work within six different auxiliary bussing groups and assign them as desired. The best part is the great number of inputs, 18, yes 18, that this board has to offer, which truly makes it stand out on top. It also comes with a useful 40-bit onboard effects processor, low cut, three range sweep filter and master EQ. You can easily turn phantom power on or off, for all 18 XLR inputs by merely clicking a button on the back. Aside from this it also has SPDIF inputs and you can daisy-chain MXII audio mixers together via firewire input and outputs. You will not find a more capable and higher quality mixer for the money. Well priced online at about: $899.00.

Check out a Phonic Board in Action!
This excellent demonstrational video that we found on Youtube.com offers an inside look at the ease and the quality of all Phonic mixing boards. When it comes to capturing the ideal and quiet sound that you can only get through padded inputs, and quality, low frequency connectors, not many mixing boards can stack up to the excellence that Phonic offers. While this video we found depicts a user utilizing the popular 18-channel firewire mixer by Phonic, in a home studio setting, the only true difference between the two mixers are six extra channels, and the fact that MKII allow for firewire daisy-chaining between another Phonic MK audio mixer that has firewire capabilities.
